Being a diabetic you always need to stay planned and have the checklist handy and all checked before stepping out. Below mentioned are things you should have ticked when you are planning for an outstation trip. Insulin Pen / Insulin Pump : Remember, insulin keeps you alive. You should never be in short of insulin and insulin delivery devices. Always check that you have all pens (bolus/basal) with you and is handy. Extra insulin refills : Check for the current status of pen and always take at least one refill of bolus & basal doses incase it gets damaged while travelling. Always check for expiries before carrying them along and don't forget to keep it cool, wrap it with a cool bag if possible. Extra pen needles : You have refills, you have pens now but what if the needle breaks or is tilted while injecting, in that case get your needles replaced immediately.
